CALLING ALL 5TH GRADE PARENTS

WE NEED PHOTOS!

The final elementary school party planning for our 5th graders has begun and we need your help!

As part of the 5th Grade Finale celebration, we are collecting one current & one baby/toddler photo of each 5th grader.  If your child was at Wilson Creek for kindergarten, we would like a picture of them with their kindergarten scarf on as well.  The pictures will be incorporated into a DVD that will be presented to students and parents during the 5th grade Wildcat Walk ceremony the last week of school.

In addition to the baby/toddler photo being used in the 5th grade DVD, there will also be a fun “Guess the 5th grade baby” section in the 2017-2018 yearbook featuring those adorable baby pictures – so please be sure to send in your pictures on time to be included!

Please send in at least 2 or 3 (baby/toddler, WCES kindergarten, & current) photos of your child to their homeroom teacher no later than Friday, February 24.

Please Be Sure That The Photos Are:

1.    Emailed to wces5thgrade1@gmail.com. Please include your child’s name and teacher’s name in the subject line.

2.  If you do not have a digital photo to email, please send in your photos on photo paper (not regular paper.)  Make sure your photos are labeled on the back with their first and last name, teacher’s name and then placed in an envelope large enough to hold them without bending.

3.   Photos no larger than 5×7 and no smaller than 3×4 .

4.  Please email the photos or have them sent in to their homeroom teacher NO LATER THAN February 24.

* Pictures will be returned so please be sure to label them as stated above.*

If you have any questions, please email Erin Schief at erinwilliams2003@yahoo.com. Thank you all in advance for your prompt cooperation.

BoxTops Information – *New* for 2017-2018

Last year, we raised over $1,100 for Wilson Creek Elementary School just by submitting BOX TOP$ for Education.  With a few changes to how we collect them this year, we are hoping we can raise even more!!!

In the past there has been a monthly contest between the classes, and whoever sent in the most Box Tops for each grade got a prize.  This year we want EVERY classroom to be able to earn a prize.  So for every 200 Box Tops a class from Kindergarten through 3rd grade submits and for every 250 Box Tops a class from 4th and 5th grades submits, they get a prize.  That is around only 10 Box Tops per child.

There is no limit to how many prizes a class can earn, so please continue to send them in all year long.  And the class in each grade that sends in the most Box Tops for the year will win a Popsicle Party!

Expired Box Tops do not count towards your class total.  We received hundreds of expired Box Tops last year, so don’t hold onto them, send them in regularly

Submitting your BOX TOP$ to the classroom is EASY:

1.      Trim your BOX TOP$ and put them in a zip lock baggie.  No need to attach them to collection sheets.

2.    The full expiration date must be visible and NOT be expired.

3.    Write the student’s name and teacher’s name on the baggie so their class gets the credit for turning them in!  Without the teacher’s name, we will not know who to give the credit to.

4.    Return the baggie to your teacher.

Volunteer Interest

GET INVOLVED …
The PTO board has created an online SignUp for volunteers needed to help at programs and events held throughout the school year.  PLEASE click on the image below to visit the sign-up and to add your name* to all the programs/events that you have interest in. The Chairperson or a PTO Executive Board member will email you with more information about each program/event.

*The names already entered into the online SignUp were taken from the PTO Volunteer Sign-Up Sheets that were in your child(ren)’s classroom during Sneak Preview and Curriculum Night.
